Spring is ...Pretty in Pink?

As the Camellia petals fall..(forgot to 'crop out' the bins in the background).



...in come all the pretty pink blossoms.



OK, not so pretty graffiti on that green box thing?  



I wanted to keep a record of the pretty streets of Mosman in Spring. For a short time pink blossom trees appear around every second street. And, as you may have guessed, these are Camellias.



It's just warm enough to take off my shoes and start running barefoot in the park.

My First Fabric Designs



First look at my 'Bumble Bee' design on white linen/cotton.



My 'bird' blob folding experiment?




The 'Bumble Bee' (brick) layout white fine 100% cotton.


My first foray into fabric design. 
I do like my Bumble Bees although I will take out the black lines in between each Bee. Will this design printed onto the upholstery linen/cotton fabric.
The 100% cotton was just a bit too fine in thickness.

Not so sure about my 'blob' experient? The colours are just a tad too 'quiet' for me.  The background on my bird blog pattern is a dull grey/blue.

Next step is to get a 'brick layout' with the red background and yellow background.  Think I may try for another colour or two. 

I'm already thinking pineapples and birds...

Camellias and a beautiful winter's day

The weather has been so beautiful it feels like summer is just around the corner. 


These warm days have brought back happy memories and its as though there's a good feeling in the air.

A long time ago when I worked in fashion and before that went to East Sydney Tech and studied Fashion Design...I did lots and lots of fashion illustrations. Here are a few including other drawings and the odd painting or two.

Blue Mountains

A few pics from my day in the Blue Mountains. 


We planned to go bushwalking in the mountains, rain hail or shine.  


I left home on Sunday morning and this was the view outside my window -  it was bucketing down! 

After leaving Sydney's torrential downpour we arrived to mostly clear skies and some fog at Wentworth Falls.  

The six of us took to the 'undercliff' and 'overcliff' walks with amazing views of water-falls and rainforest. 

After stomping through mud and slush, we finally relaxed at the hut cafe and took the very short 10min track back to the car park for some shopping in Leura. 

And just some of the lovely stores outside and in.
